Check them out, Silvia took some great pictures.<\/p>\r\n<h2>Students have been blogging about the day<\/h2>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><a href = \"http:\/\/mylexxe.wordpress.com\/2014\/04\/22\/bcswomen-lovelace-colloquium-2014\/\">Michelle Brown from De Montfort<\/a> wrote on her own blog but also had a guest post on <a href = \"http:\/\/www.computerweekly.com\/blogs\/witsend\/2014\/05\/the-bcswomen-lovelace-colloquium-a-student-perspective-michelle-brown.html\">Computer Weekly<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><a href = \"http:\/\/charlottegodley.wordpress.com\/2014\/04\/20\/lovelace-2014\/\">Charlotte Godley<\/a> from Hull Uni (also a prizewinner) wrote a post on her own site and on <a href = \"http:\/\/www.computerweekly.com\/blogs\/witsend\/2014\/05\/the-bcswomen-lovelace-colloquium-a-student-perspective-charlotte-godley.html\">Computer Weekly<\/a><\/li>\r\n<li><a href = \"http:\/\/www.computerweekly.com\/blogs\/witsend\/2014\/05\/the-bcswomen-lovelace-colloquium-a-student-perspective-polina-stoyanova.html\">Polina Stoyanova<\/a> from Greenwich uni also had a blog on computer weekly<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<h2>Speakers at the event have been writing about their experiences and their talks<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><a href = \"http:\/\/aimafidon.com\/2014\/04\/24\/leaning-in-when-youre-not-sheryl-sandberg-the-student-edition\/\">Anne-Marie Imafidon<\/a> our headline speaker, has written up her talk, on how to &#8220;lean in&#8221; when you&#8217;re not Sheryl Sandberg (and how to <i>Make the industry lean in for you<\/i>).<\/li>\r\n<li><a href = \"http:\/\/www.catehuston.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/26\/distractedly-intimate-your-users-on-mobile\/\">Cate Huston from Google has written up her talk<\/a> &#8220;Distractedly Intimate: your users on mobile&#8221; (and has also written a <i>meta-post<\/i> about <a href = \"http:\/\/www.catehuston.com\/blog\/2014\/04\/30\/returning-to-the-stage-after-harrassment\/\">returning to speaking after harassment<\/a> &#8211; I had no idea this was her first talk after a hiatus, and judging from the student reaction, nor did the students. The talk was <i>very<\/i> well received)<\/li>\r\n<li><a href = \"http:\/\/www.resourceit.net\/insights-blog\/2014\/april\/womens-lovelace-colloquium\">Rebecca Little<\/a> of resourceIT put together a post about the day in general<\/li>\r\n\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<h2>Universities have been celebrating the successes of their students<\/h2>\r\n<p>It&#8217;s lovely to see the winning students celebrated by their home university. So here are some links to uni publicity about the day&#8230;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Reading University, the host, had a winner <a href = \"http:\/\/www.reading.ac.uk\/sse\/news\/sse-newsarticle-2014-04-24.aspx\">Maitreyee Wairagkar<\/a> in the MSc contest<\/li>\r\n<li>Dundee University celebrate their win <a href = \"http:\/\/www.computing.dundee.ac.uk\/news\/2014\/04\/school-of-computing-student-triumphs-in-national-poster-competition\">Heather Ellis<\/a> won the final year contest<\/li>\r\n<li>Aberystwyth University (my own uni:-) had 4 prizewinners this year &#8211; in people&#8217;s choice, first year, and second year contests.
